changing majors

I’m almost positive I’m going to switch from Psychology to English major. I just like writing way too much to not pursue it. And I love reading.
i remember when i was about to graduate high school. i told my dad i wanted to be an English major (i liked to write, too — i wrote my first book my senior year of high school). he looked at me dead in the eye and said

what are you gonna do with a degree in english.

having no answer, i learned a trade and GOT A FUCKING JOB.

thanks, dad.

/i will be writing my sixth book this november and i didn’t need a goddamn degree to do it. NO ONE DOES, just fucking write
//kinda glad i’m about to be out of work for a while so i can get some creative juices flowing again, lord knows i’ve been dry for the last three months

I’m actually a Psych and Comm double major right now, and I plan on pursuing Comm, and writing is a very necessary skill there too. So it really works out. And my parents are cool with the switch because it also means I could triple major if I really wanted to finish Psych and pursue that. I realize I don’t need a degree in English to write but why not take classes in something I actually enjoy?

i was just telling a story from my past. no need to defend yourself; your life is your own.
